Organization

The Directorate of Prosecution is headed by the Director of Prosecution who is appointed under Section 25A of Cr.P.C. The Chief Secretary to the Government of Goa is the Administrative Secretary for the Directorate of Prosecution. The Director of Prosecution is coming under Administrative control of Home Department.

At present there is 01 Deputy Director of Prosecution 01 Public Prosecutor and 04 Additional Public Prosecutors in the Hon’ble High Court.  At Sessions level there are 22 Public Prosecutors, 31 Assistant Public Prosecutors, working under the Directorate. All the offices of the APPs and of the PPs are situated in the respective Court Premises, except those of PPs in the Hon’ble High Court presently the 16 posts of APP’s are vacant.

Besides above, there are 54 Non-Gazetted Staff, out of which, 1 Head Clerk, 1 Accountant, 1 Stenographer, 7 UDCs, 25 LDCs, 18 Peons and 1 Driver is working in various offices.
